I am Kim PC Kuypers, an Associate Professor at Maastricht University's Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience. My research focuses on the neurobiology of flexible cognition, empathy, and well-being. I use a psychopharmacological model to study the effects of psychedelics on these behaviors and their underlying biology, spanning short-term, medium-term, and long-term impacts. I also conduct surveys to understand motivations, experiences, and patterns of psychedelic use. In the future, I aim focus on identifying biological markers of positive responses to psychedelics but also to understand the impact of nutritional interventions on mental wellbeing. My ultimate goal is to contribute to personalized understandings of the relationships between psychedelics, nutrition, and mental well-being.
